DESCRIPTION:

Generally, food grade calcium chloride is mainly used as a firming agent, anti-caking agent, pickling agent, preservative, stabilizer, texturizer, moisture absorber, and low sodium salt in food processing. Its main applications are in bottled water, cheese making, beer brewing, gel with sodium alginate, canned fruits & vegetables and so on.
It almost has no side effects and the safety has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), as well as the Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA).

USAGE &APPLICATION 
Bottled water: Bottled water companies add calcium chloride and other minerals and salts to give distilled purified water a clean, sweet, and salty taste and balance the body's electrolytes to prevent overhydration.
Cheese: Calcium chloride is added to milk in cheese making to increase rennet activity, accelerate coagulation, and enhance curd firmness.
Beer: Calcium chloride or sulfate is used in beer brewing. Calcium ions reduce pH, preserve enzymes, avoid mineral deficiencies, remove certain substances, and promote yeast growth. Chloride ions enhance enzyme activity, improve yeast performance, and make the beer taste better.
Pickles: Calcium chloride can replace sodium chloride in pickling brine, adding flavor, keeping cucumbers firm, and speeding up fermentation while being environmentally friendly.
Desiccant: Anhydrous calcium chloride, with its strong water absorption ability, is an effective dehumidifier that protects food from moisture.
Fresh vegetables: Spraying or dipping fresh vegetables in calcium chloride solution after harvesting can slow physiological disorders, reduce respiration, maintain firmness, delay vitamin C loss, enhance calcium content, prevent browning, reduce decay, and extend the shelf life.
Low sodium food: Calcium chloride, similar to table salt but with calcium instead of sodium, can be used in low sodium foods.
